May 30, 2019: Impeach? Impeach. Impeach!
WARREN TAKES LEAD ON IMPEACHMENT ONCE AGAIN
Warren reacted swiftly & sternly to Robert Mueller’s first public statements on the Investigation, taking to Twitter to justify her interpretation: “Mueller leaves no doubt: 1) He didn't exonerate the president because there is evidence he committed crimes. 2) Justice Department policy prevented him from charging the president with any crimes. 3) The Constitution leaves it up to Congress to act—and that's impeachment.”
IMPEACHMENT FERVOR ON THE RISE AMONGST DEMOCRATS
Democrat fervor is on the rise in the latest polling from Morning Consult, with 53% of the 1,995 Democrats polled saying impeachment should be a “top priority.” The number is the highest since March 1st. Only 11% of Democrats say impeachment “should not be done.”
2020 CANDIDATES: WEEK IN REVIEW
JOE BIDEN. . . may be relying too much on name recognition and masking more serious problems with the candidate himself. . .which may or may not include the Korean Central News Agency’s scathing commentary, calling Biden “a fool of low IQ,” an insult that delighted Donald Trump. . .meanwhile, Biden released a plan to raise teacher pay and invest in schools. . .

ELIZABETH WARREN. . .continues to gain ground in the 2020 race, one plan at a time. . . as she’s finally being recognized as a serious contender. . .and an AOC endorsement can boost her stock even further. . .
KAMALA HARRIS. . .is being forced to defend her Equal Pay guarantee. . .while also being forced to defend her home turf of California, which is far from locked up. . .but campaigning as the anti-Biden could give her an advantage. . .
BETO O’ROURKE. . .receives brutal numbers in latest polling. . .and on the CNN Town Hall. . .but tries to bounce back, meeting every voter he can. . .
CORY BOOKER. . . vows to take executive action to protect abortion rights if elected. . .while he says beating Trump should be the floor, not the ceiling. . while reminding voters that no candidate can single-handedly fix the country. . .
KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND. . .says Donald Trump’s only motivation is cruelty. . .and vows that he will lose if he wants a war with America’s women. . .while proposing a Family Bill of Rights. . .
AMY KLOBUCHAR. . .says she has deep respect for John McCain’s family after invoking him on the campaign trail. . .where she detailed a plan to regulate big business. . .and unveiled a proposal to revamp EPA ethanol rules. . .
ANDREW YANG. . .is winning over the left by stealing Donald Trump’s playbook. . .and is leaning in at a historic moment for Asian-American candidates. . .
JULIAN CASTRO. . . wants to decriminalize border crossings. . .and shows his support with striking McDonald’s workers by joining a minimum wage rally. . .
TIM RYAN. . .pledges to represent forgotten communities. . .but has forgotten to vote nearly a third of the time while running for president. . .
JAY INSLEE. . .nets 65,000 donors, hitting the requirement for the first presidential debate. . .has a climate change plan that is every wonk’s dream. . .
SETH MOULTON. . .discloses PTSD treatment after his combat deployments. . .and calls Trump the weakest commander in chief in American history. . .
TULSI GABBARD. . .tells Tucker Carlson that a US-Iran war would be devastating. . .and, accordingly, would re-enter the Iran nuclear deal if elected. . .
JOHN HICKENLOOPER. . .urges Democrats to reject socialism. . .and calls for a national standard on gun licenses. . .
ERIC SWALWELL. . .says Democrats should not rush into impeachment. . .so why is he running. . .
STEVE BULLOCK. . .is balancing running Montana with a run for president. . .and faces an uphill battle with climate hawks. . .
MARIANNE WILLIAMSON. . .says voters don’t care if a candidate has been a Governor or Senator. . .because she is definitely something different. . .
MICHAEL BENNET. . .knows what’s wrong with America. . .and would start by addressing climate change. . .
JOHN DELANEY. . .slams half-baked socialist policies from 2020 field’s left flank. . .as he doubles down on his proudly moderate stance. . .
WAYNE MESSAM. . . has a history of liens, lawsuits, and other financial woes. . .but says that with his experience as the mayor of a diverse city, he’s ready to lead and unify the nation. . .
MIKE GRAVEL. . .is an 89-year old anti-war zealot running for president on Twitter. . .
BILL DE BLASIO. . .refuses to help Amazon return to NYC. . .attacks Biden’s crime bill. . .and says he understands Trump’s game plan. . .
GET TO KNOW A CANDIDATE: KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND
Gillibrand, a New York native, attended Dartmouth and graduated from UCLA School of Law. . .both of her parents were attorneys, and her father was a lobbyist, including work for Donald Trump. . .her first foray into public service was on Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign in 2000. . .was appointed junior Senator in New York in 2009 after Clinton was chosen to serve under Barack Obama. . .prior to that, she was a member of the House from 2007-2009. . .once considered a centrist, Gillibrand has shifted to the left, supporting a jobs guarantee, and the abolition of ICE. . .she has been dogged, however, by her relationship with Philip Morris, which included defending Big Tobacco and accepting campaign donations from the tobacco behemoth. . .she was formally elected in 2012, and won re-election in 2018 with 67% of the vote. . .though a supporter of gun rights in the House, she has now moved toward gun control. . .she supports abortion rights and has a “zero tolerance” doctrine on sexual misconduct. . .
